Wednesday, March 5

Late Start: Our day started with Math. We finished looking at decimals with a linear model and area model and I introduced a regional model, which the children really liked. Tomorrow, we will go over our Study Guide and practice for the assessment on Friday. There will also be a page of review questions from fractions so don't let them forget to practice those too! Then, we had special, lunch and OUTSIDE recess! After recess, we had a LIVE webcast with the Google Doodlers. Ask your kiddo what a doodler for google does. We also tweeted with them and sent in some pictures and questions. There is a contest and many students are now interested in submitting their entries. For more information about the contest, visit: google.com/doodle4google . After our webcast, we read aloud from The Real Boy in observance of World Read Aloud Day. Oscar went searching through Caleb's workshop and found some troubling things and thinks that he was created out of magic!! Finally, students ended our short day by working on their fictional narrative or reading.
Here is a doodle a student did along with the webcast of an "angry astronaut cat."
