Today was fairly productive. We completed the construction of the buildings for Ember and will begin the electricity on Friday. In Math, we used a calculator to "count" decimals by tenths and hundredths and began a look at correlating decimals and the metric system. Our assessment will be Friday over decimals. After indoor recess, we learned more about the sick children in the shining city. Things are looking very bleak for them but the people in the shining city should be protected by magic... In Reader's Workshop, we completed a crossword puzzle on the drama in StoryWorks and worked with math puzzles. Students are really struggling with problem solving and reading directions! They would rather just have a partner or me tell them what to do. Please try to help them become more independent with these skills by practicing at home. Next, we continued writing our fictional narratives in Writer's Workshop and ended our day with a little high frequency words quiz.
