Tuesday, March 4
We began our day with Math 4 Today and then Technology Tuesday! Students are doing much better with accuracy on M4T. In Social Studies, we learned that Ohio's birthday was this past Saturday. On March 1, 2014, Ohio turned 211! We also discussed about Ohio'd growing economy after statehood and how Ohio became a leader in farming and industry. In Math, we continued our work with comparing decimals to the metric system using bead and meter sticks. Students are looking at decimals using a linear model, area model and region model. After another indoor recess (bundle up tomorrow because I think we'll be outside), we read The Real Boy. We found out about the wizards and the trees and the magic that has kept the plague out of Aletheia. I think we'll get more information tomorrow on World Read Aloud Day! We worked with word puzzles and a Time For Kids in Reader's Workshop and continued work on our fictional narrative is Writer's Workshop. We ended our day with a quiz of 16 more high frequency words.
