Tuesday, February 4

Our day began with concentrating on the 4 problems for Math 4 Today. We did much better with making sure we understood and had correct answers for the problems today. Kudos for the better effort! Then, we went to the computer lab and played the electricity and circuit games and simulations. After getting sweaty in gym with "Titanic," we worked on applying our knowledge of fractions through a problem solving activity. We also went over our homework from last night and some even had a chance to begin (and maybe finish) homework for tonight over the next fraction standard-adding and subtracting fractions. Unfortunately, indoor recess was loud, too goofy and dangerous. Lucky was even dropped and students were not showing good judgement with having the privilege of holding him at recess. So, the recess teacher has taken away our next indoor recess. With so many indoor recesses lately, it is hard to be stuck inside, however, it is what it is and we have to follow the rule that "Every student shall be safe and able to learn." After recess, we worked on our conference presentations and worked on vocabulary and comprehension from our StoryWorks magazines. Finally, we finished our day with working on our brochures.

**It is anticipated that there will be a snow day tomorrow. We will have our Math Assessment on Friday, regardless, so I am sending home the study guide that we would've worked on tomorrow in class. If we do have school, they are to bring it back and we will work on it/complete in class. If not, they should probably get a jump start on it and then we will finish it on Thursday.
